LIVE FROM MY CLOSET, IT’S A VINTAGE HAUL!!!!!
Calling all New Yorkers: Pop-up market A Current Affair is back on the East Coast this weekend after a COVID-related hiatus.
It’s a purely upscale and designer market (compared to my favorite pop-up market, the Manhattan Vintage Show, which has a mix of everything and will be back April 14 and 15). If vintage Vivienne Westwood, Versace, Chanel, and Tom Ford-era Gucci are calling your name—and your credit card—below are some of my favorite shops.
Century Girl: If you wish you lived inside a Sofia Coppala film, you’re going to love the candy-colored wares of this store. Century Girl also does gorgeous costume jewelry and accessories on another level—that’s what I found the most captivating when I visited the store a few years ago.
Lucky Vintage: I haven’t been lucky enough (get it, get it) to visit this Seattle-based shop IRL yet, but it has the seal of approval of Katie Becker, which is basically gold. The brand has teased what’s going to be available at the show on their Instagram, and it looks good.
James Veloria: Taking a selfie inside this Lower East Side/Chinatown shop is a vintage shopping rite of passage—and the shop owners, Brandon Veloria Giordano and Collin James Weber, are so warm and friendly. I love the no-rules approach to vintage clothing, this store is truly the modern approach to vintage fashion.
Toots Vintage: Owner Michael Phillips is a total doll. The store is filled with gorgeous cream puff gowns and ‘90s dresses, which are all filtered though a distinct, sexy lens.
